COLUMN: Fans in attendance of Saturday’s 7-0 win for the current Rebel squad over the alumni team got a glimpse at what the backbone of Ole Miss’ pitching staff will likely resemble when the season opens on Feb. 18 against Wright State.

Head hopeful to re-invent himself
This weekend standouts from Ole Miss’ past will flood Oxford for the program’s first Alumni Game, pitting professionals against the current squad.
While many of the former Rebels will be looking to have a good time and re-connect with former teammates, one in particular will have a bit more in mind.

Ole Miss baseball to host alumni game
On Monday the Ole Miss baseball program announced it plans to host the first-ever alumni game under head coach Mike Bianco.
The game is set for Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. and will be played at Oxford-University Stadium. The game is expected to feature current pros such as Chris Coghlan, Matt Tolbert, Lance Lynn and Drew Pomeranz facing off against the 2011 Rebels.
Tickets are $5 for general admission with the proceeds going the Ernie LaBarge Bullpen Club and can be purchased at OleMissAlumni.com/Events.
