City nixes more bar hours
A request to extend bar hours until 2 a.m. was denied by the Oxford Board of Aldermen on Tuesday. The board did approve $37,000 for security cameras to install around the Square by mid-August to improve security after recent crimes in the area. (July 6, 2011, Page 1)
Public hearing set for Thursday on Sunday alcohol sales issue
A public hearing on Sunday alcohol sales is set for Thursday but with a location change.
The hearing has moved from City hall to the Oxford Conference Center at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Alcohol sales an issue in the cyberworld, too

What’s she’s recently discovered, too, is that there is an uncanny similarity between the online world she plays in and the real one she lives in since there’s an issue about alcohol sales in both.
