  • Earline Bramlett Bell, 74 of Oxford died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Baptist East in Memphis. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held for three hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Frances Waits Brown, 72, died Monday at Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home.
  • Patricia Wilkerson of Oxford died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, followed by communion. A reception for her friends and colleagues will be held for one hour prior to the service in the parish hall.   • Lisa Hollowell Bevan — 49, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at her home in Batesville. Services were held Sunday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville.
  • Beatrice Davis — 89, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford.
  • Thomas Watkins Elliott — 76, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 this evening at Waller Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
  • Edith Harding Jones — 89, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at her residence in Oxford. A private family graveside service was held Sunday, with burial in Yellowleaf Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
  • Frances Edwards Oliver — 86, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at her home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

  • Jack Walton Thrift — 80, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford.   • Aubrey W. Walker, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at his home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donnie Morgan and the Rev. Charles Lipe officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A retired power plant operator at the University of Mississippi, he was born in Craighead County, Ark. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, the O.D. Smith Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the York Rite and he was a Wahabi Shriner. He was an active member of the Lafayette County Volunteer Fire Department and the Lafayette County Serach and Rescue. Survivors include his wife, Marie F. Walker of Oxford; two daughters, Shirley Mason of Oxford and Rebecca Bennett Grier of Calhoun City; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Clear Creek Cemetery Fund, 50 CR 313, Oxford, MS 38655.
