  • Ray Blount — 38, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Abbeville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, with the Rev. Larry Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in Abbeville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 this evening at the funeral home.
  • Martha Virginia Kilgore Busby — 89, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Philadelphia Baptist Churchg. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 this afternoon at the funeral home.
  • Rita Colley Weaver — 87, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley. Services will be held at 3 this afternoon in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home of Oxford. A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery South in Memphis. Visitation will held for one hour prior to the service today at the funeral home.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with the Rev. David Reeves officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery South in Memphis. Visitation will be Sunday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Harrisonville MB Church Cemetery on Highway 6 West. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Q.T. Hardin Smith — 84, died Tuesday, March, 22, 2011, at her home in Etta. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Christian Rest United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Christian Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to the service at the church.
  • Earnestine “Teen” Pearson Williams — 75, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at East St. Peters M.B. Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Serenity-Martin Funeral Chapel in Oxford, with family present from 4:30 to 7.

Memorial services will be held at noon Thursday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the courtyard at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home and again prior to the service from 11 a.m. until noon at the church.
  • James Oscar Hutchinson Sr. — 72, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home. Graveside services will were held this morning at Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Aiken, S.C.
  • Ervin Edward Nelson Jr. — 95, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, in his daughter’s home in Scottsdale, Ariz. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Water Valley. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
  • J.L. Smith — died Sunday at his residence in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
  • James Paul Weems — 92, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, in Oxford. Services were held Sunday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Burial followed at Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County.
