  • Edward “Wayside” Westbrook — 52, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in Memphis. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hurricane Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Oxford. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Beulah McEwen of Oxford. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
  • William “Trotter” McEwen — 80, formerly of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Services will be held Monday in Detroit.

  • Doris Hodges “Sunny” Hamrick — 87, died Saturday, Nov., 5, 2011, at Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community in Charleston. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, with the Revs. Alan J. Cochet, Joseph DiRaddo and Frank D. Russ Jr. officiating.
