Veteran's Building

Karaoke

The VFW will host karaoke singing and dancing every Friday night at the Veteran’s Building across from the State Veterans Home. Doors open at 6 and  singing and dancing starts at 7. Use one of their disks or bring your own. Food and drinks available. Admission is $5. The public is invited. (August 5, 2010)

American Legion

American Legion, Post 55, will meet Thursday at the Veteran’s Building. Supper and fellowship will be at 6 p.m., followed by the business meeting at 7. All veterans are invited. (July 5, 2010)

Veterans Breakfast

The DAV, American Legion and the VFW will host a breakfast and some fellowship for all veterans at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Veteran’s Building at 125 Veterans Drive. Breakfast features eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits and coffee. The Veteran’s Building is located at the corner of Veterans Drive and South Lamar Boulevard. Donations are accepted. (July 3, 2010)

DAV

Members of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 48, will meet at noon Saturday at the Veterans Building, located at 125 Veterans Drive. (June 16, 2010)

DAV Mobile Service Office

The DAV Mobile Service Office will be in Oxford to assist veterans with claims and benefits from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Veteran’s building, 125 Veterans Drive. No reservations are necessary. Representatives of the National Service Office for the state will be available to assist veterans with their requests. (June 9, 2010)

VFW

The members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lady’s Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting this evening at the Veterans Building at 125 Veterans Drive. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The meeting follows at 7. (June 8, 2010)
