  • Erna Sharon Davis — 62, died Saturday, April 30, 2011. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at New Prospect Baptist Church in Olive Branch. Visitation will be held for three hours prior to the service at the church. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch is in charge of arrangements.
  • Mildred K. Hewlett — 86, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Everdale M.B. Baptist Church in Water Valley. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley.
  • Valerie Rana Childers Meredith — 37, of Myrtle, died Saturday April 30, 2011, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Myrtle. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday at United Funeral Services in New Albany.
  • Albert Gerald “Jerry” Sims — 63, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church in Pontotoc County. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery in Pontotoc County. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of local arrangements.
  • Thelma Smith Williams — 81, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

  • Martha Virginia Kilgore Busby — 89, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Services were held this morning at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.
  • Rita Colley Weaver — 87, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley. Services were held Sunday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. A graveside service was held this morning at Forest Hill Cemetery South in Memphis.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley.
  • Collie Patterson Crouch — 100, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on at Waller Funeral Home of Oxford.
  • H. Glen Willard Jr. — 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Union Church of the Nazarene in Pontotoc County. Burial will follow at the Old Union Cemetery near Oxford. The family will meet at United Funeral Service in New Albany at 11 a.m. Friday before leaving for the church.

  • Dr. Frank LaRoy Leggett — 83, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A memorial service will be held March 6 at 2 p.m. at Bassfield High School. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge.
  • Nicholas Raymond Lucus — 33, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010. A private service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
  • Euphus Edward “Ned” Murray Jr. — 92, died Tuesday. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home.
