  • Ruth Summers Goss — 82, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Quitman County Hospital in Marks. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow be in the North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Marvin Douglas “Doug” Gurner — 56, died at his home on Monday, July 4, 2011, in Decatur, Ala. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church in Water Valley.
  • Samuel Edward McCain — 70, of Pope died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Henry Chapel of the Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in Yocona Cemetery in Lafayette County. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
