  • L.C. Manning Sr. — 87, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at his residence in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tallahatchie Missionary Baptist Association Building. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 this evening at the Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home chapel in Oxford.
  • William Lyles Pierce — 84, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at his home in Oxford. Services were held Sunday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Burial followed in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
  • Edward “Buck” Raley — 70, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services were held Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Burial followed in Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Banner.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
  • Jonnie Maeford Sharp Gregory — 87, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her residence in Paris. Services will be at 2 this afternoon at the New El Bethel Baptist Church in Paris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of arrangements.
  • Lourette Griffin Harrington — 87, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services were held this morning at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland. Burial followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home of Houston was in charge of arrangements.
  • Guy B. Perkins — 75, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at his home in Water Valley. Services were held this morning in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial followed at the Black Jack Cemetery in Panola County.
  • Charles Gregory Thomas — 41, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at his home in Fairhope, Ala. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. An additional memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Ala., this morning. Garner-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  • James Hugh Robbins — 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at his home in Oxford. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at College Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:30  p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.

  • Harry K. Jennings Sr. — died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery East in Memphis. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
  • Bettie Peel — 57, formerly of Oxford, died Sunday  in Grand Rapids, Mich. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
  • William Travis “Billy” Rutledge — 88, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home in Oxford. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville, with Bro.
