Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning fitness party. Do you want to sweat without all the hard work? Girl Scouts Registration

Girls Scouts Heart of the South will have an informational meeting and registration event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Oxford Civic Chorus Auditions

The Oxford Civic Chorus will hold an audition for the 2010-11 season at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church in Wesley Hall. The chorus will only accept new singers through the Aug. 23 audition. The Oxford Civic Chorus is a group of musicians from a variety of backgrounds and occupations, hailing from Oxford and the entire north Mississippi area. Membership is by audition only. The group performs a varied repertory, including patriotic, popular, spiritual, stage, screen and folk song genres. Rain won’t delay Relay

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Friday with a dinner honoring cancer survivors in the Oxford High School cafeteria. Original plans are to then move the Relay events to the OHS football field. However, a 70-percent chance of rain Friday night could force organizers to move the event to the Oxford-University United Methodist Church. (April 28, 2010, Page 1)

Blue and Gold Banquet

Cub Scout Pack 4 will have its annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Tuesday at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Dinner will be provided free starting at 6 p.m. and will be followed by an Arrow of Light and Crossover Ceremony. Anyone interested is invited. Emmaus and Cursillo Community

The Emmaus and Cursillo Community will have its monthly  gathering at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Everyone who has attended the Emmaus Walk or  Cursillo Weekend is invited to attend for this special program, and to bring covered dishes to celebrate the fellowship. (March 3, 2010)

Meets Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wesley Hall of Oxford-University United Methodist Church for the World Day of
Prayer, with the theme: “Let everything that has breath praise God.” Program chairwoman is Mari Kuhnle, and arrangements will be done by Peggy Schove and Jean Shaw. (March 2, 2010)
