Oxford’s Rosamond Posey balances law and music

OXFORD TOWN – Local attorney and musician Rosamond Posey and The Posey Family Band will be rocking at Proud Larry’s on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 for the next two weeks where crawfish and rock ‘n’ roll will rule the night. Business suits, cowboy boots and center stages – Posey is, without a doubt, one of the hardest working (and playing) women in Oxford. Spelling bee

OUS: No new school

After recently announcing plans to build a new, more spacious school, officials with Oxford University School are now issuing mixed messages about whether the new school will be built — and if the school will close its doors.In an e-mail sent to parents Monday, OUS Headmaster Don Frazier announced the mortgage for the current school building held by Citizens Bank was 90 days past due and that the loan was about to be foreclosed.

OUS secures funds for new school

After a lengthy delay in financing, Oxford University School officials say construction will begin in two weeks on their new school. Although the school was not able to secure a bank loan, private investors in the community have come forward with the needed funds. (January 12, 2010, Page 1B)
