‘One Night Stand’ returns to Ole Miss Motel

OXFORD TOWN – The concept of the fifth annual “One Night Stand” art exhibit is when 15 artists take over 12 rooms at the Ole Miss Motel, swapping out the standard motor-in landscapes for their own paintings and photographs and essentially becoming the curator of their own small gallery. Details of the popular event to be held on Oct. 29 can be found on Page 16 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town by Lifestyles Columnist George Atkins. (October 27, 2011, Page 16)

Groups aim to address homeless problem in Oxford

About 60 people from a range of agencies and interests attended a meeting held Sunday by the Oxford Homeless Task Force to address the growing homeless population in Oxford. Now they’re going to be working in committees aimed at six issues: awareness, fundraising, statistics, shelter needs, immediate response and governmental relations. (February 22, 2010, Page 1)
