The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a temporary water contact advisory Wednesday for Burney Branch and an unnamed tributary near the University of Mississippi campus. On Saturday, the Run for Hope 5K run and half marathon will be held in Oxford. More than 500 runners have already signed up for the race and organizers expect another 150 to join as walk-ins on Saturday.
