Vineyard gets hesitant nod from Board of Aldermen

The Oxford Board of Aldermen voted 5 to 2 to approve a special exception granting a Planned Unit Development zoning for The Vineyards, a 336-unit subdivision geared toward student living off Old Taylor Road. (April 18, 2012, Page 1)

New hospital location announced

Representatives from Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi asked both local governing boards Tuesday to amend an agreement that a new $250 million hospital will be build within the city limits to allow Baptist to build on property that is both inside and outside of the city which is located between Old Taylor Road and South Lamar, not far from the existing hospital. Student housing boon in Oxford

Two more large $36 million developments were approved by the Oxford Planning Commission that are geared to student living. The Retreat and Blackberry Hills developers both offered to donate $12,500 and $10,000 respectively to the Oxford University Transit system to be included on the bus route.
