Michael Clyde Amburn, 72, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will follow in Anchor Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. until service time.

Born in Wellington, Texas to Albert Jesse Boyd and Tommy Jo Cook Amburn, Mr. Amburn was a Mason and a retired truck driver. He loved animals — especially horses. He enjoyed farming, coon hunting, fishing and rabbit hunting.

Michael was preceded in death by his fathers, Albert Jesse Boyd and Ted Amburn

Mr. Amburn is survived by his mother, Tommy Jo Amburn of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Sheila Amburn Mays and her husband, Steve, of Frankston, Texas and Holly Renee Beasley of Paris, Mississippi; a son, Michael Shane Amburn of Water Valley; a special friend, Susan Zumwalt of Water Valley; a step-son, Kirk Zumwalt of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michael Charles Taylor of Frankston, Texas, Chad Jeffery Taylor of New Albany, Indiana, Erica Renee Potts of Paris, Mississippi, Christopher Thomas Gage Beasley of Grenada and Christa Renee Beasley of Grenada; and two great grandchildren, Raylon Valley Vanwinkle of Water Valley and Martin Lane Harmon of Paris, Mississippi.
