Juneteenth festival returns for third year

The third annual Juneteenth festival starts tonight at 7 p.m. on Martin Luther King Drive in Oxford. The event is celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation. (June 17, 2011, Page 2A)

Juneteenth Celebration

The community’s second annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held at 3 p.m. June 19 on Martin Luther King Drive. This year’s event will also include a parade at 6 p.m. June 18. Those interested in registering to participate by entering a float, car, bike, dance group or walkers, can call 662-701-9710. Parade entry and vendor booths are free. (June 7, 2010)
