Library egg hunt, puppet show

Those who want to get a head start on the Easter festivities can go to the Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library for a puppet show and Easter egg hunt that will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The egg hunt will follow the show for children 6 years old and younger. There will be a separate area for toddlers. About 120 children will search for 500 eggs, including the golden egg which contains a special prize. Children can compete to guess how many jelly beans are in a jar and refreshments will be served after the event. For more information, call the library at 234-5751. (April 2, 2010)

Class to teach naturalization process

The U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services will offer a class to legal, permanent residents on the ins and outs of how to become a U.S. citizen. The two-hour class, which will be taught in English, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library and will be free to all those interested in attending. (March 10, 2010, Page 3)

Family Story Time

Craft Circle

Books ‘n’ Lunch

The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library will host a Books ‘n’ Lunch program at noon Friday. E. Ethelbert Miller, an award-winning poet in town as part of the annual Conference for the Book, will present a poetry craft talk. Pre-registration is required for this event.
