Search on for hit, run driver

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still searching for the man they say is responsible for a hit and run crash Friday that resulted in the death of 22-year-old Samuel Andrew Spraberry. (November 25, 2013, Page 1A)

Answers sought in death of county man

Investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department are awaiting autopsy reports from the state medical examiner’s office in Jackson before moving forward with the death of Abbeville resident Gary Blackmon who was found Monday morning on the ground under a bridge off Highway 7 North. (April 2, 2013, Page 1)

Historic bridge can be yours

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is looking for individuals or organizations interested in being the new owner of the Highway 7 Tallahatchie River Steel Bridge. Since the bride is considered historical, MDOT must meet federal guidelines to have the bridge. MDOT is expected to start construction on a new bridge in early 2013. (November 28, 2012, Page 1)
