Weather stalls Avent park drainage project

StoryWalk installed at city park
Girl Scout Troop 20356 of Oxford has installed a StoryWalk along the nature trail in Avent Park. The story features 28 laminated pages of a children’s book on stakes that were placed about 10 feet apart. Young walkers can read the story as they walk along the path. (April 24, 2012, Page 1)
Groups invited to take part in Party in the Park
To help provide information about organizations aimed at offering support for parents for the prevent of child abuse and neglect, several organizations have come together to hold the annual Party in the Park on April 14 at Avent Park in recognition of National Child Abuse Awareness Month.
