Pomeranz named SEC Pitcher of Year
HOOVER, Ala. — Drew Pomeranz’s mantle must be running out of space.
On Tuesday, the left-hander became the first Rebel to be named the Southeastern Conference’s Pitcher of the Year. The SEC’s announcement comes one day after the junior was awarded the Ferriss Trophy, which goes to the Magnolia State’s top collegiate baseball player. (May 26, 2010, Page 6A)
Automobile thief takes advantage of luxury feature
A Lexus, owned by Jaby and Jennie Denton of Oxford, was stolen right behind Jennie’s back on Monday in front of the Lafayette County Chancery Building. Guantrell Burt of Oxford was caught driving the car in Alabama during a high-speed chase. He lost control of the Lexus, crashing it into a tree. (May 20, 2010, Page 2)
