Rebels show grit in win over Tigers
Two weeks ago, a subpar shooting performance would have likely resulted in a loss for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team. But thanks to recent wins over a ranked Kentucky team and road win at Arkansas, the new-look Rebels were able to grind out a 66-60 victory over LSU on Thursday night despite shooting just 38.9 percent from the floor. Warren’s second half leads Rebs past Hogs

The Ole Miss coach knows it happened. It’s not going away.
While the Rebels can’t change the past, they continued to try and climb out of the early hole with a 69-60 win over Arkansas on Saturday night. Chris Warren, the hero of a last-second win over Kentucky earlier in the week, scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half as the Rebels (15-8, 3-5) pulled away for their third win in four games since the dismal conference start. Ole Miss rediscovered its outside shooting touch to open the second half and surged away from LSU for a 78-51 victory Saturday.

The Vanderbilt Commodores are aching and hurting. They also are learning how to quit letting games get away from them at the end.

Rebel men unable to match Georgia
Ole Miss’ inability to put its loss to Mississippi State behind them cost them dearly against another set of Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. No. 24 Georgia jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game and continued to slice and dice up the Ole Miss defense the rest of the way en route to a one-sided 98-76 win.
The Bulldogs (13-3 overall, 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference) shot a blistering 63.5 percent (33-for-52) from the floor, the best percentage shot by any SEC team against any opponent this year, while all five starters scored at least 12 points in the effort. (January 17, 2011, Page 6)
