Pegues’ journey lands him at WVU

The journey to where Xavier Pegues is now is not a path he envisioned himself on but one that ultimately he admitted was necessary. Oxford DE Pegues wins Defensive Player of Year award from MAC in 5A

Xavier Pegues’ dominance on the football field in 2012 for the Oxford Chargers resulted in him being named the Mississippi Association of Coaches Defensive Player of the Year Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Pegues, who will play in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic next week, was one of four Chargers who made the annual team on defense and one of six Chargers who made the team overall. (December 5, 2012, Page 6)

Chargers down ‘Dores in JV action Monday

Oxford’s junior varsity football team used a powerful running game and a strong effort on defense to post a 14-0 win over Lafayette Monday night at William L. Buford Stadium.
