Lafayette splits with CHS in divisional showdown
Lafayette wrapped up its home-and-home series on the pitch with Cleveland on Saturday, splitting with the visitors.
While the LHS girls cruised to a 6-0 victory on a gusty Saturday afternoon at William L. Buford Stadium, the Commodores were defeated 6-2.
In the girls’ showdown, Lafayette scored five goals in the first half and never let Cleveland gain any sort of confidence to get back in the game. (January 16, 2012, Page 8)
Jackson on the mark in Commodores win
Fresh off of the gridiron, Tyler Jackson showed no signs of being over worked on Tuesday as he led the Commodores to a 4-0 home victory over Grenada.
The senior striker netted three goals in his third game back with the Commodores and played as if he hasn’t missed a beat. (January 4, 2012, Page 7)
LHS soccer set to start season today
The Lafayette soccer teams will officially kick off their season today with road matches at Hernando.
Coming off of a 3-12 season, the Commodores are hoping the 2011-12 season provides different results in large part because of a young core group of players that has a year more of experience under their belts. (November 8, 2011, Page 10)
Lewisburg takes two games from LHS
A busy week of soccer got off to tough start for the Lafayette girls and boys teams Monday as both teams suffered losses to Lewisburg at William L. Buford Stadium.
