The Oxford Middle School volleyball program recently concluded its season and according to coach Wendy Raby, this year was a huge success for the young Lady Chargers.
Two weekends ago, OMS wrapped up its season by participating in the 2012 Coca-Cola Middle School Invitational Volleyball Tournament hosted by Tupelo.

For a young Oxford squad, the tournament meant the end to what has been a difficult season with only one senior.
For Lafayette, the tournament — in which the Lady ‘Dores topped Oxford 2-0 (25-16, 25-11) and Tupelo 2-0 (25-20, 25-20) — was a good warmup for their first-round playoff match on Saturday at Caledonia. (October 1, 2010, Page 6A)
Facing the defending state champion Lake Cormorant Lady Gators, the Oxford Lady Chargers volleyball squad could have folded on Thursday after falling behind 14-1 early in Game 1.
Despite eventually losing the match 3-0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-16), Oxford coach Wendy Raby said early on her young team — which has just one senior, as opposed to the 10 on the Lady Gators’ squad — felt intimidated by their opponent. (September 17, 2010, Page 7A)
