Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend

OXFORD TOWN – The 2012 version of the Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend all around Oxford and the Oxford Square. The event kicks off at the University Museum on Friday at 4 and ends at Foxfire Ranch in Marshall County on Sunday featuring some of the hottest blues acts and musicians in the country. Oxford Music Fest 2012 spotlight continues

OXFORD TOWN – The photo shown here caught one of Oxford’s favorite musicians, Tate Moore, jamming at a 2011 Thacker Mountain Radio Broadcast  and we’re glad we have it in our archives because Moore takes the spotlight on Page 9 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town as we  conclude our sneak peek at the Oxford Music Festival set to reload Feb. 9. Oxford Music Festival reloads

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Music Festival organizers Daniel Morrow, Tim Burkhead (pictured here), Nathan Robbins and Caroline Hourin recently released the lineup for the 2012 version of one of Oxford’s favorite hometown festivals, Oxford Music Fest. Set to reload Feb. 9 at the Lyric Theater, Proud Larry’s and the Malco Studio Cinema, OMF is teaming up with the Oxford Film Festival to bring us another amazing weekend of music, movies and mayhem featuring tons of local talent. VOX PRESS returns to the Powerhouse

OXFORD TOWN – VOX PRESS presents “Noises from the Nerve Center Collective,” an evening of experimental music and literature, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on University Avenue in Oxford. The event is part of a documetary project and is free and open to the public. Parrish’s hosts Tyler Keith and The Apostles this Saturday night

Tyler Keith to host gospel concert this Sunday at T.O.M.B. building

OXFORD TOWN – Blues music is a hot item around the L-O-U community (especially this weekend) but other genres are gearing up to entertain us as well. A concert produced by one of Oxford’s favorite musicians,Tyler Keith, will be held at the T.O.M.B. building on Highway 334 from 6-9 p.m. this Sunday (July 24). The Blind Pig to host Thacker Mountain Radio benefit

OXFORD TOWN – Tyler Keith (pictured) is among an all-star cast of Oxford musicians that will perform Thursday night (April 21) at The Blind Pig to help raise money for Thacker Mountain Radio. Oxford Film Festival features local touch

This weekend’s Oxford Film Festival, in its eighth year, will be featuring lots of films directed, produced and filmed locally and featuring local residents in the cast. There are a number of narratives and documentaries with the local touch as well as a couple of non-competing movies and works-in-progress. Oxford Film Festival recently announced its 2011 line up including 13 world premieres, three national premieres, 33 regional premieres, 10 Mississippi premiers and other spotlight films.
