Rebels struggle with production in practice
Hugh Freeze seemed to feel more like a dentist than he did Ole Miss’ first-year head football coach Tuesday morning. Shortly after his Rebels went through their first practice outside this week and first since a second two-a-day practice session on Monday, Freeze made the comment that Tuesday’s drills felt more like pulling teeth than anything else. Sawyer, Campbell named to All-SEC Coaches team
Two members of the Ole Miss football team were named to the 2012 Southeastern Conference Preseason Coaches All-SEC Team today. Senior punter Tyler Campbell and junior defensive back Charles Sawyer both earned spots on the third team. This marks the ninth straight year of the SEC Coaches Preseason All-SEC Team. Rebels show more energy, enthusiasm in loss to Georgia
A week after being embarrassed in a road loss to Vanderbilt, it was easier for Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt to find the silver lining after his Rebels lost 27-13 to Georgia this past Saturday.
More enthusiasm and better effort were the top two things Nutt garnered from evaluating the film of the loss and he seemed to believe that his team was getting closer to executing like he and his staff want. (September 27, 2011, Page 6)

Campbell adding touch to his game
There’s an art to being an effective punter.
To paraphrase the famous Nike tag line of the 90s, chicks may dig the long ball, but football coaches dig the ball that’s downed inside the opponents 10-yard line.
That’s something Ole Miss junior punter Tyler Campbell has been working on this summer.
Known for his howitzer of a leg — Campbell led the nation in 2010 with an average of 46.37 yards — he spent this summer working on the tactical aspects of punting. (August 25, 2011, Page 6)
Six Rebs named All-SEC; UM picked to finish last
HOOVER, Ala. — Led by senior offensive tackle Bradley Sowell and senior defensive end Kentrell Lockett, the Ole Miss Rebels had a total of six players named to the 2011 Southeastern Conference Media Days All-SEC team.
