WVHS tabs Clouse as next softball coach

With an emphasis on the future, Water Valley has hired Hollandale-Simmons coach Casey Clouse to lead its softball program.

The hiring of Clouse was officially approved at the Water Valley Schoolboard meeting on April 4. She will replace Kendra Bensch, who announced earlier this season that she will be relocating with her family during the summer. (April 18, 2011, Page 3B)

Board approves addition to WV softball field

The ever-changing Water Valley softball field took another step forward on Monday when the school board approved the site of a permanent concession stand behind the Lady Blue Devils’ dugout.

The field, which is funded solely from fundraisers and by the booster club, is an on-going work in progress and according to athletics director Trey Allman, the immediate goal is to have the foundation and pipes for the concession stand in place by this spring.

Allman added that he hopes the restrooms will also be completed by the spring. (August 4, 2010, Page 9)
