New EAGLE owners have local connections

The new owners of The Oxford EAGLE feature connections to Mississippi and the Oxford community. Minority owner Kevin Cooper is married to former Oxford High and Ole Miss graduate Julie Finley, whose parents still live here. Minority owner Steve Stewart once served on the EAGLE staff as a reporter and graduated from Ole Miss. Agreement reached for sale of Oxford EAGLE

An agreement for the sale of The Oxford EAGLE by members of the

Phillips and Vasilyev families of Oxford has been reached in

principle. Work to complete the transaction is under way. The buyer

will be a newly formed Mississippi entity, Oxford Newsmedia, LLC.
