A new chapter in Ole Miss men’s tennis history begins Friday with the start of the dual match season under first-year head coach Toby Hansson. The Rebels would like to write a fantastic ending in Waco, Texas, site of this year’s NCAA Final 16. (January 16, 2015, Page 6)
Eight years ago, Toby Hansson. got a phone call from then-Ole Miss men’s tennis head coach Billy Chadwick with an opportunity to become the assistant coach. Hansson accepted the offer and the rest is history.
Earlier this year, Hansson was tapped by athletics director Ross Bjork to replace Chadwick when the latter announced he would retire at the end of the 2014 season. (July 4, 2014, Page 6A)
Last month, Nik Scholtz became the first Ole Miss men’s tennis player to be named SEC Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year during his career, and he hopes this time next week to add to that list of accomplishments with an NCAA title. (May 21, 2014, Page 8)
