Tia Faleru

Ole Miss’ Faleru beginning to find her stride

The Lady Rebels as a whole are feeling good after their most recent victory over Belmont.
One player in particular, Tia Faleru, should be feeling exceptionally well as the team begins a six-game road trip tonight at Cleveland State. (December 18, 2012, Page 9)

Defensive win should lead to happy flight

The Ole Miss Lady Rebels should have a little extra pep in their step when they board their flight for Cleveland, Ohio.

Considering a six-game road trip now awaits the Lady Rebels, Sunday’s 63-48 victory over Belmont at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum was especially well received. (December 17, 2012, Page 3B)

Ole Miss’ Faleru sparks comeback

The Ole Miss Lady Rebels felt like they took a real step forward last week despite falling at Louisiana Tech.

During the first half of Saturday’s home game against UMass, Ole Miss’ women’s basketball team didn’t show any glimpse that it had turned the corner; in fact, the Lady Rebs almost looked like they had regressed.

And then the second half happened. (more…) (December 10, 2012, Page 3B)

Lady Rebels rally falls short against UA

There were plenty of times Thursday evening the Ole Miss women’s basketball team looked lost.

Against Alabama, the Lady Rebels floundered bad enough that at one point they trailed the Southeastern Conference’s last-place team by as many as 18 points after turning the ball over 19 times and allowing the visitors to cash in with 20 second-chance points. (more…) (February 10, 2012, Page 7A)

Quick start leads No. 15 UGA past OM

A quick start at Ole Miss on Sunday got the No. 15 Georiga Lady Bulldogs off and running Sunday at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum and they never looked back.

Aided by a 30-2 run to open the game, the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 61-47 victory.

Georgia (16-4 overall, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) forced 12 turnovers in the first half and took advantage of Ole Miss’ 7-for-27 (25.9 percent) shooting performance from the field to build its insurmountable lead. (more…) (January 23, 2012, Page 1B)

Johnson shoots MSU past Lady Rebs

Thursday night’s 51-46 loss to Mississippi State was a frustrating one for Ole Miss head coach Renee Ladner.

The game at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum was not a pretty game, especially for the Lady Rebels, who shot just 26.6 percent after knocking down 47 percent of their shots from the floor in consecutive Southeastern Conference wins. (January 20, 2012, Page 6A)
