Oxford’s quest for first state championship falls short

STARKVILLE — Oxford didn’t finish the drill. A rallying cry that was born out of the championship disappointment of a season ago carried Oxford all year. The Chargers spent all of August, September, October and November earning its way back to the final day of the season in December to give themselves another shot at the MHSAA Class 5A state title. (December 7, 2014, Page 1B)

Oxford sweeps Grenada in middle school hoops

Oxford’s eighth-grade Chargers gained a measure of revenge Thursday night with a 42-37 win over Grenada in the OHS gym. The seventh-graders won 34-26 after being down seven points during the contest.
