Rebels defeat Memphis in NIT 2nd round
Five players scored in double figures to help lead the Ole Miss Rebels to a 90-81 win over the Memphis Tigers in a National Invitation Tournament game Friday evening at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. The win advanced the No. 2 seed Rebels to the third round of the NIT on Tuesday against the winner of Saturday’s game between Texas Tech and Jacksonville. Rebels fall to No. 15 Tennessee
NASHVILLE — Ole Miss’ chances of making the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002 took a considerable hit Friday in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Led by the outside shooting of Cameron Tatum, and another double-double effort from Wayne Chism, No. 15 Tennessee defeated the Rebels 76-65 in front of a crowd of 19,123 at the Bridgestone Arena.
