‘The Help’ premiers; opens Aug. 10

OXFORD TOWN – The new film “The Help” opens Aug. 10 and many critics around the country have already seen it and are screaming its accolades. The Mississippi premiere took place in Jackson and the Oxford Film Freak was there along with James Meredith and Gov. Haley Barbour. ‘The Help’ helps local artist

Director Tate Taylor gave a little help to the local arts community when he purchased one of Taylor artist Bill Beckwith’s statues. Taylor was so impressed that he then also invited Beckwith down to the set of “The Help” being filmed in Greenwood. (October 18, 2010, Page 2a)

Calling all Mississippians: Movie needs help
