No. 9 Rebels eliminated from SEC Tournament by top-seeded LSU
BLOG: Hello again from Regions Park in Hoover, Ala., the site of the 2012 Southeastern Conference Tournament.
After losing to Kentucky 2-0 in their opener, the Ole Miss turned around and defeated Arkansas and preseason SEC Pitcher of the Year D.J. Baxendale 2-0 on Wednesday thanks in large part to the pitching efforts of Mike Mayers and Brett Huber.
Today, the Rebels will face one of the top pitchers in the country when they face off with LSU and right-handed junior Kevin Gausman at 9:30 a.m.

It’s been a long time coming for OM’s Orvis
It’s one thing to be a freshman and receive regular playing time, but it’s a completely different animal to receive sporadic pinch hit opportunities during your first season in the Southeastern Conference.
After coming to Ole Miss during the summer with a slugger’s reputation, freshman Sikes Orvis has been relegated to the latter role due in large part to some of the upperclassmen ahead of him on the depth chart, which is why what he accomplished Saturday is all the more special. No. 4 LSU blasts No. 24 Rebels to win series
It appears the Rebels aren’t done searching for a Sunday starter.
After splitting the first two games against No. 4 LSU, the No. 24 Rebels turned to a new starter Sunday for the third consecutive week.
Not only did Dylan Chavez get run from the game prematurely, but Ole Miss struggled to find any pitcher who could consistently put up zeros during the 12-3 loss at Oxford-University Stadium. (May 7, 2012, Page 6)

Yarbrough sees hitting streak halted Sunday
STARKVILLE—Alex Yarbrough saw his hitting streak come to an end at 22 games Sunday following an 0-for-4 performance against the Bulldogs at Dudy Noble Field.
The Rebel second baseman struck out, grounded out to the pitcher and flew out to center field against MSU starter Luis Pollorena before flying out to right against closer Caleb Reed in the eighth. (April 30, 2012, Page 7)

No. 18 Rebels blow late lead to Tigers
MEMPHIS — Jacob Wilson proved to be quite the party crasher Tuesday evening.
Not only did the Memphis third baseman breakup the no-hit bid three Ole Miss pitchers had pieced together until the seventh, but Wilson put the hometown Tigers ahead for good in the following inning with a two-run homer. (more…) (April 25, 2012, Page 6)
No. 18 Rebels travel to play Memphis
After taking two of three from Arkansas, the No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels will now hit the road to face Memphis tonight before traveling to Starkville this weekend to face rival Mississippi State.
First pitch for tonight’s game at AutoZone Park is set for 6:30.
