Defense sets tone for POW honors

WATER VALLEY — Calhoun City held a 6-0 lead over Water Valley late in the first half. It looked like the Blue Devils were going to have their first scare of the young season. Blue Devils top Cougars to make 3A playoffs

WATER VALLEY  — The smile on Kary Bridges’ face said all that needed to be said about Tuesday’s 4-2 win over South Pontotoc at Blue Devil Field. Water Valley’s baseball leader may not have any hair later this week — Bridges made a bet he was to shave his head if his team won — because of the Blue Devils’ most recent 2-3A victory that garnered them a spot in the playoffs, but he likely won’t care.

Clement, Devils polish off Bruce

WATER VALLEY — A third straight complete-game effort on the mound highlighted the final game of the Water Valley Spring Break Tournament.
