Ole Miss splits DH, drops series at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. — The Ole Miss baseball team ended its weekend by splitting a doubleheader with Auburn Saturday afternoon at Plainsman Park. The Rebels (20-20, 8-10 Southeastern Conference) cruised to a 7-2 victory in Game 1 before the Tigers (25-16, 7-11) earned the split by winning the second contest, 14-0. (April 19, 2015, Page 1B)

Rebels take momentum on the road to Auburn

The Ole Miss baseball team feels it is starting to trend in the right direction with a little more than a month left in the regular season. Smith, Bortles power Ole Miss past UT-Martin

After the emotional series win against Vanderbilt Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco broke it down for his team and explained exactly what they have to do to find themselves back in the NCAA tournament come June— win games. Sam Smith and the rest of the Ole Miss baseball team did just that. Smith gave a quality start and Colby Bortles’ bat remained hot as the Rebels defeated UT-Martin 11-1 Wednesday afternoon at Oxford-University Stadium. (April 16, 2015, Page 6)

It is another weekend series in the Southeastern Conference for the Ole Miss baseball team and it’s another matchup against a No. 1 ranked team as the Rebels head to Nashville, Tennessee to begin a three-game series against Vanderbilt tonight (6:30 p.m., ESPNU). (April 9, 2015, Page 6)

Diamond Rebels fall to USM

PEARL — In its first game as part of the 2015 Mississippi College Series, the Ole Miss baseball team dropped a close matchup to Southern Miss, 6-5, Tuesday night. The in-state rivals battled it out at Trustmark Park in Pearl, but it was the Golden Eagles (18-11-1) who emerged with a one-run victory over the Rebels (16-17). (April 8, 2015, Page 1B)

Ole Miss’ Robinson adjusting to leadership role

The Ole Miss baseball team has a new look to it this season. Gone are the veteran players like Will Allen, Austin Anderson and Auston Bousfield. What is left is a team comprised of young, new faces due to a high number of junior college transfers. For this reason, shortstop Errol Robinson is viewed as one of the leaders on and off the field. Ole Miss’ bats go quiet in series finale against Vols

Looking for its second Southeastern Conference series win of the season, the Ole Miss baseball team fell to Tennessee, 4-2, in the series finale Sunday at Oxford-University Stadium. Hits were hard to come by throughout the contest as the Rebels (16-16, 5-7 SEC) recorded four, while the Volunteers (14-14, 4-8 SEC) tallied just six on the afternoon. Vols even series against Ole Miss with 6-3 win

For the third straight game the Ole Miss baseball team found themselves in an early deficit. On Saturday afternoon they were unable to overcome it as they had in the previous two games as Tennessee beat them 6-3 at Oxford-University Stadium to even the series. For the second game in a row the Ole Miss baseball team found themselves in a hole early and for the second time in as many games they mounted a comeback. Rebels erase 3-run deficit, rally past Memphis

MEMPHIS — The Ole Miss baseball team used clutch hitting to rally from a three-run deficit past the Memphis Tigers, 7-5, Tuesday night at AutoZone Park in downtown Memphis. The Rebels (15-14) recorded 13 hits, including seven with two outs, to claim the midweek win over the Tigers (17-7). (April 1, 2015, Page 1B)
