Friday night’s varsity basketball doubleheader between Lafayette and Senatobia in the LHS gym turned into a life or death situation for one Commodore.
Senior forward Sherquan Herod collapsed on the floor during the second quarter of the boys’ contest due to a medical emergency that revolved around his heart stopping. Herod, who was making his second start of the season, was sitting on the bench when he suddenly landed face-first onto the floor after suffering from the cardiac-related episode.
