Events encourage people to get outdoors

Oxford Park Commission celebrates national Get Outdoors Day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pat Lamar Park. Various activities will be held for both children and adults, from children’s fishing in Lake Patsy to football tosses, face painting, camping and hiking and the Art-to-Go will be on hand. Includes collaboration between Leadership Lafayette, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Ole Miss Outdoors, U.S. Forestry Service, Boys and Girls Scouts, the Lafayette County 4-H club and Volunteer Oxford. (June 7, 2013, Page 3A)

Easter Egg Hunt to return on Double Decker

The Oxford Park Commission’s annual Easter Egg Hunt has been rescheduled for the Saturday during the Double Decker festival at 10 a.m. at FNC Park. The Touch-A-Truck event will also be held at the park. (April 11, 2013)
