Riders go up with gas prices

Ridership on the Oxford University Transit buses are up but so are gas prices leaving the commission concerned about the rest of the year’s budget. (April 14, 2011, Page 1)

Riders return to local transit service

Ridership on the Oxford University transit system is up 44 percent this month as students returned to the university. The system will also be purchasing a new GPS system, solar panels for bus stops and a security camera system due to American Recovery Reinvestment Act funds. (September 9, 2010, Page 1)

Transit system ready for students

Students aren’t back yet but the buses have kicked off their fall schedule. As of Monday, the complete routes have restarted including the reopening of the orange route which had been closed over the summer due to low ridership. July ridership was up with 12,725 riders compared to June’s 11,048. Bus system prepars for students’ return

Oxford University Transit will have a new fall schedule beginning Aug. 9. New stops and changes are being made to the Green Line which operates Monday through Friday. (July 15, 2010, Page 2)

Buses begin expanded service

LOCAL NEWS — The Oxford University Transit system is now reaching even more Oxford-area residents with its expanded routes. This morning the green, yellow and orange routes began, marking a major expansion to the public transit system that has been running blue and red routes for a little over a year. (January 4, 2010)
