Oxford forward Romeo Johnson may not know what position he will start his college career, but his versatility, coupled with his ability to shoot outside, may just allow him to play almost every position on the court in the future. The 6-foot-5 1/2 Johnson is looking to play as many places he can in the future for Northeast Mississippi Community College coach David Robbins.
Johnson signed with the Tigers on Monday and is already focused on making an impact, whether that is playing shooting guard, small forward or even at the center position. (April 12, 2012, Page 7)

Oxford’s varsity basketball teams earned two region wins over Saltillo on Tuesday night. The Lady Chargers remained undefeated and grabbed a share of the regular season region title with a 91-49 win over the Lady Tigers. Tuesday’s nightcap involving the Oxford Chargers and Lafayette Commodores literally came down to one play. In a game that was as emotionally charged as any recent contest between Lafayette and Oxford on the basketball court, it was the Chargers who got the better of the Commodores in a 55-53 win in the LHS gym.
