Woman dies in Thanksgiving fire

A woman was killed Thanksgiving morning when the mobile home she was in caught fire.
Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy said three sisters were in the trailer on County Road 436 near Yocona when it caught fire. Two escaped; however Jachicka L. Knox, 22, died in the fire. (November 29, 2013, Page 1A)

Oxford man found dead in car

An Oxford man was found dead in his vehicle Friday. Coroner Rocky Kennedy said this morning it appears Mike Alderson, 64, may have suffered a heart attack before plunging his vehicle into a pond on private property. (October 28, 2013, Page 2A)

Oxford man killed in wreck

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck that happened Tuesday morning on Highway 6 at the Lafayette/Pontotoc county line.  Carl E. Lockhart, 47, of Oxford was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi after his Dodge Charger collided with a truck hauling logs at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday while traveling east on the highway. Two die in car wreck

Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy said Billy Dean McCullar, 58, and Regina Soileau, 32, were killed Saturday morning after their pickup went off the road, hit trees and caught on fire. (November 14, 2012, Page 1)

Coroner searching for family of dead man

Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy is searching for family of Robert Allen Wilkins, who died Dec. 22. Fund establised for toddler’s family

A fund has been set up to help the family of a 14-month-old girl who was killed Saturday when she was run over in her driveway. The Wyatte Baptist Church in Senatobia has set up the fund.
