Chargers cap perfect regular season
Oxford capped off a perfect regular season on the court Monday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Lafayette at Avent Park. The Chargers, now 16-0 heading into the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs, feature a senior class that is 116-2 during their career and Monday’s match with the Commodores was Senior Day. RIDGELAND — It seemed to be hard for members of the Oxford High tennis team to pick a boys doubles team to root for in Tuesday’s Class 5A individual tennis championship. Thanks to a new tournament format created this year by the MHSAA, the Chargers’ two boys doubles team that qualified for the individual tournament faced off against one another in the championship match.
