Home needed for autistic orphaned teens
Oxford School District’s behaviorist analyst Denise Collier has been caring for two autistic teenage boys since their mother died in November. She’s hoping someone will step up to take at least the higher functioning boy into their home and become his foster parents before they are turned back over to the state on Jan. 4. Pauper burial OK’d for woman
On Monday, the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors agreed to pay the bill for Natalie “Nicki” Coleman, who died Thursday, under the county’s pauper burial policy.
Coroner Rocky Kennedy asked the board to consider paying for the cremation since he was unable to find next of kin of Coleman who were able to pay.
