Fresh off of upsetting a ranked Arkansas team on the road, the Ole Miss Lady Rebels will look to do it again tonight when they host No. 17 Kentucky at 8:05 p.m. The game will be televised on SportSouth.

McFarland’s late free throws help lift OM to win
Valencia McFarland scored 21 points and hit two late free throws to seal the victory, and Ole Miss upset No. 23 Arkansas 69-65 on Sunday.

Ole Miss women head to The Plains
Winter weather may have forced Ole Miss to skip its tournament in New Jersey last month, but with remnants of the recent southern blizzard disappearing the Lady Rebels hoops squad will head east today to continue their Southeastern Conference schedule with a game at Auburn before returning home to host South Carolina on Sunday.
After surging late in the game to top Vanderbilt in its SEC opener, the Rebels stumbled at No. 5 Tennessee last week, dropping a 86-46 contest to the Lady Vols on Jan. 9.
Tonight, Ole Miss (8-6 overall, 1-1 SEC) will face an Auburn Tigers squad (9-7, 2-1) that is coming off of a 73-56 victory over Florida and a 67-59 loss to Vanderbilt. (January 13, 2011, Page 7)

Size versus speed — that’s one of the ways the Ole Miss women’s basketball team is viewing its matchup against No. 5 Tennessee on Sunday.
A week ago, it was Ole Miss’ team speed and ability to flip the court that made the difference in it’s come-from-behind victory over Vanderbilt.

Rebels overcome early woes, down VU
The first half of Sunday’s game between the Ole Miss women and Vanderbilt had all the makings of a letdown reminiscent of the Lady Rebels’ lopsided loss to Miami (Fla.) in mid-December, where 29 turnovers led to 33 points for the Lady Canes.
On Sunday, 14 turnovers led to 15 points for Vanderbilt and by halftime, the Lady Rebels trailed by 16 points.
Following a spirited halftime speech by head coach Renee Ladner, however, the Lady Rebels flipped the switch and an 11-4 run eventually led to a 72-67 victory for Ole Miss in its Southeastern Conference opener at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. (January 3, 2011, Page 7)

Lady Rebels’ trip to NJ grounded
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team was supposed to be participating in the St. Peters’ Holiday Classic basketball tournament today and tomorrow in Jersey City, N.J.
Instead, because of winter weather travel mishaps involving the Northeast that are being felt by more than just the Ole Miss basketball program, the Lady Rebels will put their new Basketball Practice Facility to good use and prepare for their Southeastern Conference Championship home opener on Sunday against Vanderbilt.
Originally scheduled to leave out of Memphis for Jersey City on Monday evening, the trip was officially nixed Tuesday just before 10 a.m. (December 29, 2010, Page 6)

Fondon shines in loss to Lady Rebels
Growing up, once KeKe Fondon transitioned from the softball field to the basketball court anyway, she dreamed of running up and down the hardwood at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum, 20 minutes north of her hometown of Water Valley.
On Wednesday her dream came true. Only, instead of playing in Ole Miss’ red and blue, she was knocking down shots for the visiting Mississippi Valley State Devilettes.
Despite coming out on the losing end of a 68-57 decision, Fondon played a versatile role for the Devilettes. (December 16, 2010, Page 4B)
