Lady Rebels take Magnolia Invitational

After going to five sets against both Southern Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette, the Ole Miss Lady Rebels made quick work of the Samford Lady Bulldogs on Saturday night, claiming their fourth consecutive Magnolia Invitational with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-20) victory.

Head coach Joe Getzin said the key to the match was the team’s ability to clean up its play on its own side of the court.

In the three sets against Samford, Ole Miss had just 14 attack errors, compared to Samford’s 24. (September 13, 2010, Page 5B)

Lady Rebels looking to bounce back after tough season

There’s a specific reason “GET” and “BETTER” are prominently displayed where the home and away teams are normally listed on the Gillom Sports Center scoreboard.

One year after posting a 10-20 overall record, it’s obvious what the goal of the Ole Miss volleyball team is, to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2007 season. (August 13, 2010, Page 7A)
