Diana Nutt won’t be needing to purchase snow gear anytime soon.
During Monday’s end-of-the-year press conference at the Indoor Practice Facility, Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt, Diana’s husband, denied Internet rumors that he was interested in the head job at Colorado, vacated by the firing of Dan Hawkins. (November 30, 2010, Page 8)

The uncertainty surrounding Ole Miss’ quarterbacks appears to have been laid to rest — at least for now.
On Sunday, former Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli confirmed that he plans to join the Ole Miss football team this fall as a walk on.
“I’m excited to get another chance,” Masoli told Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples on Sunday. “I’m so grateful and thankful.

Ole Miss’ depth at quarterback took a hit over the weekend when redshirt freshman Raymond Cotton announced he was leaving the team. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Cotton made his decision public Saturday after reportedly wrangling over staying with the Rebels or leaving with his parents’ help.
Ole Miss head football coach Houston Nutt was hoping Cotton would decide to stay with the team and compete for the starting quarterback job like he did this past spring when he met with the media Friday at the Southeastern Conference’s Media Days. Nutt seemed optimistic about Cotton staying with the team, especially if he would listen to his father and mother who both wanted him to remain in Oxford. (July 26, 2010, Page 6)

In the recent days, however, with the news that strong-armed quarterback Raymond Cotton plans to leave the Ole Miss football program, you may have found yourself wondering to yourself just how bad Masoli really is.

SPORTS EDITOR BLOG — Prior to his debut at the Southeastern Conference’s Media Days, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said redshirt freshman quarterback Raymond Cotton has not made a definite decision regarding his status with the team.
