City cemetery costs to climb
The city of Oxford has put a moratorium on grave purchases at the Oxford City Cemetery for the next 45 days while they work to increase prices for lots. A public hearing will be held on Aug. 2 at the Board of Aldermen meeting to discuss. (July 21, 2011, Page 1)
Trash rules change for Square businesses
A new ordinance to allow the city to fine Square businesses up to $1,000 if they don’t dispose of trash properly is now in effect. (January 5, 2011, Page 3)
Alley effort underway
Alleys behind restaurants on the Square could soon be a bit tidier now that Oxford officials approved a new contract to cut down on grease bins. The board approved a contract with Hide and Tallow Co. of Birmingham, Ala., to supply grease bins for the city. (April 27, 2010, Page 3)
