Prior to the season, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze was asked what his thoughts were on the Rebels playing host to perennial power Texas during Week 3.
Without skipping a beat, Freeze replied “Are we 2-0?”
As it turns out, the Rebels are.

Head coach Houston Nutt talked about Saturday’s scrimmage after practice, but the biggest news of the day involved junior linebacker D.T. Shackelford, who sustained a knee injury during the practice. OLE MISS FOOTBALL — A strong final push turned into an outstanding National Signing Day for the Ole Miss football program and Houston Nutt Wednesday. Ole Miss was able to sign some important players for the 2010 class and, in the process, vault up the national recruiting rankings. The Rebels signed 22 new players in addition to two junior college players the team signed in December. (February 6, 2010, Page 6)
