Bianco turns to new guys for 2012

Team Snyder slugs way to Game 1 win

The Chicago Cubs have been making headlines recently for their hiring of former Boston Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein, the architect of Boston’s two World Series championship teams.

What went largely unnoticed amongst national headlines was the job Ole Miss senior first baseman Matt Snyder did assembling the Red team’s roster for the annual best-of-three Pizza Bowl series that began on Wednesday.

After skillfully piecing together his team through Monday’s draft, the Red squad rolled past the Blue 10-4 on Wednesday at Oxford-University Stadium. (October 27, 2011, Page 7)

Smith plays well in return for Rebs

Ole Miss got off to a slow start on Tuesday before piling on six runs in two innings en route to a 10-6 victory over the Southeast Missouri Redhawks at Oxford-University Stadium.

JONESBORO, Ark. — Three swings of the bat garnered nine runs for the Ole Miss Rebels in their come-from-behind win over Arkansas State on Wednesday night.
