The Oxford cross-country teams fared well at this weekend’s Pontotoc Invitational, finishing second out of 13 squads. Tristan Orman led the boys with a seventh-place finish with a time of 17 minutes, 39 seconds, while Emily Hankins paced the Lady Chargers with a 16:31 mark that was good enough for sixth. RIDGELAND — It seemed to be hard for members of the Oxford High tennis team to pick a boys doubles team to root for in Tuesday’s Class 5A individual tennis championship. Thanks to a new tournament format created this year by the MHSAA, the Chargers’ two boys doubles team that qualified for the individual tournament faced off against one another in the championship match.
