DE Johnson out for remainder of spring

Ole Miss junior defensive end C.J. Johnson will miss the remainder of spring practice after fracturing his fibula during Wednesday’s practice at the Indoor Practice Facility.

Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said he didn’t see the injury happen but assumed someone rolled up on Johnson.

Hooks still undecided; Rebels sign three players Wednesday

The first day junior college football players could sign with a four-year school came and went without a commitment and signature from Northeast Mississippi Community College defensive tackle Lavon Hooks. Long summer comes to an end for Rebels

A long spring and summer for fans waiting on Ole Miss football to start finally came to an end Sunday. A healthy crowd of onlookers got their first taste of what the 2010 Rebels will look like on the field with the first practice of the preseason.

Hot temperatures weren’t enough to persuade fans from not getting a glimpse of new transfer quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and some of the other players who hope to lead the Rebels back to a major bowl.
